The Challenge
Underwriters were navigating complex property risk data through legacy tools that required multiple screens and manual cross-referencing — a process prone to error on multi-million-dollar decisions.
02 — Process
My Approach
Redesigned the modeling workflow around underwriter mental models, not system architecture. Consolidated catastrophe exposure, TIV breakdowns, and scenario modeling into a single-screen command center. Ran contextual interviews with senior underwriters to validate priority data hierarchies.
03 — Outcome
Results
Time-to-quote reduced by 35%. Error rate on data entry dropped 22%. Platform adopted by 4 additional carriers within 18 months of launch.
